WHAT TO BRING TO JAMAICA
ON UNSUPPORTED ADVENTURES
ALONG WITH YOUR BIKE IN A SOLID BOX YOU NEED:
Riding shoes, helmets, pads, gloves and eyewear along with anything that you might need to do any repairs.
A multi-tool with a torx drive for rotors and spare bolts, tubes, patch kits with glue plus quick tyre patches
Bring a spare tyre and a small jug of sealant with a solid pump and a shock pump along with a knife & foldable
saw & maybe a piece of sandpaper. Lots of zipp ties and spare spokes, chain breaker with spare links, end caps,
inner cables, bolts and ferules. lubes & grease, pedal wrench and if you use a dropper bring a spare seat post.
ALL 29ers & 650B's bring plenty of tubes as only 26 and road tubes are available here.
TO BRING FOR YOU:
I bring things I won't find including a single cup coffee maker, small sound system, sunscreen and a rain poncho.
You might want to buy a cell upon arrival as they are inexpensive or a roaming plan from home.
Tick & mosquito spray are recommended along with "After Bite" ultra and I have been using a small bug net sometimes.
Personal gels and power bars are not available in Jamaica as of so far so you might want to bring your favourites.
Any old tires or a tubes with a patch, old shoes, clothing and well used bike parts will be greatly appreciated by the locals.
Upon arrival will need $3.00US for defumigating the bike as the agriculture dept. will spray the tyres for and then
demand money in US funds. I bring new tyres and tell them at the declaration desk to stop the insanity.
PANDEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bring your own helmet, gloves and shoes.
The bikes will be disinfected before and after use.
All riders must follow Covid-19 requirements and protocols.

RULES & GUIDANCE
DO NOT WEAR CAMO AT THE AIRPORT IN JAMAICA
THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD IS THE DRIVE SIDE
YOU MUST HAVE A LIGHT ON A BIKE AND IT'S ENFORCED.
While riding on roads or carving trails we will encounter many scenes visitors might see as crazy or odd.
People in country may carry a machete openly so please do not jump into a ditch or duck and cover as this is normal. It's not unusual to see a person carry a load to market on their head with or without shoes.
Aways ask if you intend on taking anyone's picture.
DRUGS are illegal in Jamaica so don't do them.
GANJA
Since 2015, possession of up to two ounces (57g) of ganja is no longer a criminal offense. Carrying this
amount in public can still attract a fixed penalty fine similar to a parking ticket, of J$500 (around US$3),
but no criminal record will result. People under the age of 18 caught in possession may also be referred
to the National Council on Drug Abuse for counseling. Possession of larger amounts remains a criminal offense.
The possession fine does not apply to medical marijuana, including products purchased at a licensed dispensary.
Possession of up to two ounces of weed by visitor s for medical purposes is legal.
Possession is also legal for sacramental purposes for followers of Rastafari.
Smoking ganja in a public place is prohibited, as it is with cigarettes, with a fixed fine of J$500.
It is legal to smoke in licensed dispensaries, but smoking in private residences is no longer an offense.
